Description

Apiland is a scenographic space dedicated to bees and a farm whose beekeeping production is nationally recognised. Gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Discover the fascinating world of bees in a magnificent setting at the foot of the Serre-Ponçon dam! From the beehive to the anatomy of the bee, Apiland offers a complete and entertaining animation around the beekeeping world.

In 2018, Apiland Nature is the only beekeeping farm in France to obtain the Excellence prize at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris.

- The farm:
Apiland is above all 3 generations of beekeepers
With a stock of 250 hives, the Apiland honey house produces a wide variety of honeys every year. From the seaside to the mountains of the Ubaye valley via the Valensole plateaux, our hives transhume in order to bring a beautiful diversity of honey to our customers. The honey and flower pollen are collected with great respect for the well-being of our bee colonies. All of our production is sold directly in our shop, via online sales or is used to make our home-made pastries.

- The museum area:
This is an invitation to a complete change of scenery, a stroll through the kingdom of small animals. Bees, wasps and hornets will no longer hold any secrets for you. You will learn all about our profession of beekeeper during the guided tour and much more.
All visits to the museum are guided, no unguided visits are possible
Sandrine and Lionel will welcome you. They will also accompany you for a visit of about one hour and fifteen minutes. Over the years they have perfected a generous animated visit around subjects they master to perfection: Agriculture, Biodiversity & Bees.
Giant sculptures of bee-predator insects await you in the large exhibition hall. One hundred times larger than the real thing and true to their models in every detail, you will find a wealth of information about their lives, habits and habitats. Thanks to our giant insect sculptures, bees, hornets and wasps will no longer hold any secrets for you.

At the heart of the museum, also visit "Célestin's mill", a moving animation of an old walnut oil mill, a cocktail of sensations thanks to a surprising audiovisual animation in surround 5.Between noble materials and subtle smells of honey and gingerbread, the 260 m2 of the shop will awaken your taste buds and your olfactory sense. More than ten different honeys, more than 200 references in products of the hives, cosmetics, confectionery, pastries, French Royal Jelly, jams and bookshop...

- The restaurant area:
In July and August, enjoy our restaurant area (out of season: on reservation for groups). In addition to a very large outdoor terrace, we have two rooms of 60 m2 and 200 m2.
