Description

Discover the fascinating world of bees in an area of 2000m2. Wasps, hornets and common garden insects will no longer hold any secrets for you! Guided tour at the foot of the Serre-Ponçon dam: vivariums, films, windmill and giant sculptures.

It's a complete change of scenery, a walk in the kingdom of the little beasts. You'll learn all about our profession as beekeepers during the guided tour and much more besides.
All tours of the Museum are guided, so you can't visit on your own.
Sandrine and Lionel will be delighted to welcome you. They will also accompany you on a tour lasting around an hour and a half. Over the years, they've perfected an animated tour based on subjects they've mastered to perfection: Agriculture, Biodiversity & Bees.
Giant sculptures of insects that predate bees await you in the large exhibition hall. 100 times larger than the real thing, and faithful to their models down to the smallest detail, you'll find a wealth of information about their lives, habits and habitats. Thanks to our giant insect sculptures, bees, hornets and wasps will no longer hold any secrets for you.

At the heart of the museum, you can also visit "Célestin's mill", a moving animation of an old walnut oil mill, a cocktail of sensations thanks to a surprising audiovisual animation in surround 5.1.

- The farm:
Apiland is above all 3 generations of beekeepers
With a stock of 250 hives, the Apiland honey factory produces a wide variety of honeys every year. From the seaside to the mountains of the Ubaye valley, via the Valensole plateaux, our beehives migrate to bring our customers a wide variety of honey. The honey and flower pollen are collected with great respect for the well-being of our bee colonies. Our entire production is sold directly in our shop, via online sales or used to make our home-made pastries.

- The shop area:
With its noble materials and subtle scents of honey and gingerbread, the 260 m2 shop area will tantalise your taste buds and excite your olfactory senses. More than a dozen different honeys, over 200 references in beehive products, cosmetics, confectionery, pastries, French Royal Jelly, jams ...

- The restaurant area:
In July and August, take advantage of our restaurant area (out of season: booking required for groups). In addition to a very large outdoor terrace, we have two dining rooms of 60 m2 and 200 m2.
